Are you a job seeker who wants to get an overseas employment? Labor Day will be celebrated on May 1, 2017 in the Philippines. As such, many overseas job hiring and local employment fairs will be held on this date.
For Central Luzon, according to Department of Labor and Employment more than 10,000 positions are available in job and business fairs for May 1, 2017. On these job opportunities, 2,787 are overseas job opening while 7,575 are for local vacancies.
Per Atty. Ana Dione, the Regional Director of DOLE Region III, it is advisable for jobseekers to pre-register at the nearest PESO office in their areas or at PhilJobNet website: http://philjobnet.gov.ph/ before May 1, 2017. This is to avoid delays during May 1, 2017 job fair.
A facility of Department of Labor and Employment, PhilJobNet intend to facilitate the jobseeker’s search for jobs or the employer’s hunt for qualified work force.
Who May Apply During the Job Fair?
Fresh graduates, returning Overseas Filipino Workers, displaced workers and other interested applicants who are looking for a job are invited to apply during the May 1 Labor Day recruitment events.
What Positions Are Available for Overseas Job Hiring?
Do you want to apply for overseas job opportunities? Among the positions that are open for overseas applicants are Welders, Automotive Mechanics, Machine Operators, Housekeepers, Domestic Helpers, Construction Workers, Bakers, Baristas, Waiters/Waitresses, Caretakers, Drivers and Nurses.
For local employment, work vacancies include Sewers, Cashiers, Drivers, Production Operators Customer Service Representatives, Sales Clerks, Customer Service Consultants, Retail and Sales Agents and Accounting Staff.

An extension of the Labor Day recruitment event is the job fair on May 5 which will take place at Vista Mall, Balanga City, Bataan.
Participating in the Central Luzon job fair are 24 Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) accredited recruitment agencies and 143 local business employers.
Tips for OFW and Local Job Seekers
- Job seekers are reminded to be fully prepared and to come early during the job fairs in the different venues.
- Bring many copies of your resume and work documents (photo, Employment Certificates, Clearances, Transcript of Records, and other pre-employment documents).
- Wear proper attire when coming to the job hiring fair.
Apply in the recruitment fair with your friends or relatives who need jobs, may it be local or overseas work. Be there in the nearest job fair venue this coming May 1, 2017!
